Effective immediately the County of Warner No.5 has issued a Fire Ban which will remain in place until further notice.
Under the ban all open fires are prohibited in the County of Warner No. 5. This includes all incinerators, firepits and burning barrels.
Fires that are contained in cooking or heating appliances fueled by fluids or gases (gas or propane fueled fire rings, BBQ's, stoves) are allowed.
The public is reminded of the dangers that smoking materials can cause when they are discarded into dry vegetation, including ditches. Always dispose of smoking materials in proper containers and ensure they are completely out.
Off-Highway Vehicles and farm equipment can also start wildfires. Be sure to check that hotspots remain free of debris and that mufflers and spark arrestors are working properly.
